Please keep in mind that the training groups will be determined solely by the coaching staff.  These groups will be organized according to the swimmer's ability to handle the practice requirements, while still being able to swim with excellent technique, and have the ability to make necessary corrections.

Each coach is committed to making practices challenging and enjoyable for your swimmer, while at the same time making sure that each swimmer is making good progress.

HPAC is committed to returning high quality swimming to this area, one swimmer at a time!  We care about the individual!

Training Groups

Blue This group is our first group aimed at competition. These swimmers are ages 5 through 8 years old (or 9 year olds new to competitive swimming). Swimmers must be able to complete 25 yards of the pool efficiently in both freestyle and backstroke. The Blue group will focus on approximately 80% stroke development and correction combined with 20% training. There will be options for entry-level meets. Two to three practices per week is recommended.

Silver This group is comprised of swimmers making the transition into the White training group.  These will typically be 9 & 10 swimmers who are in need of more endurance and stroke correction or our 8 year olds who are ready for a higher level of training.  A heavy emphasis will be placed on stroke development, but they will now increase their training level significantly.  Three practices a week are encouraged.

White This group will include swimmers from 9 through 12 years of age (with occasional exceptions to this age range). This group will also have varied levels within itself. Swimmers in this group should be competent in all four competitive strokes. The goal of this group is to develop stroke and training habits that will lead the swimmer to achieve their full potential. The White groups practice time will focus about 40% on stroke development and correction combined with about 60% training. Three to four practices per week is highly recommended.

Junior This group will include swimmers from 11 through 14 years of age who have demonstrated the ability and willingness to take on a more challenging training regimen.  This group will focus on 30% stroke development and 70% training.  Swimmers in this training group should have the goal of qualifying and competing in Regional and/or Age Group championship meets.  Four practices per week is expected.

Senior This group will include swimmers from 11 through 18 years of age who desire a challenging environment that focuses on technique and training. This group will focus on between 20% and 40% stroke development and correction and 60% to 80% training.   This group will be comprised of swimmers who have demonstrated the ability and desire to qualify and  compete for awards at the State Championship meets.  A minimum of four practices per week is required.  It is highly recommended to attend all practices offered.

Senior Elite This group will include swimmers from 13 through 18 years of age who are looking to be trained at the highest level. Entry into this group is limited, the request must be initiated by the athlete. Stroke correction is continuously blended in with extremely strong training. The purpose of this group is to train with the intention of reaching High School State level and then National Level. Attendance, personal training habits, goals and ability are all criteria that are considered before one can be accepted into this group.
Six practices a week are required.
